The Buffet, River Rock Casino Hotel

Who had an extremely busy two weeks and just had time tonight for a quick blog post? ME!
It is my Mom's birthday today (technically it was forty minutes ago) and we took her out for lunch at The Buffet in River Rock Casino Hotel. Last midnight, me, my sister and brother surprised her in her bedroom with a bouquet of yellow roses, a love letter, and two cakes. Yes, mom loves her sweets a little more than normal. I hope she liked it ♥

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE ONLY WOMAN I CANNOT EVER LIVE WITHOUT!
We did not know that The Buffet opens at 11:30 so we had to wait a good ten minutes to get in. Quite a number of people were already lined up. I paid 99 bucks for the five of us which makes it almost 19 bucks per head. It is a cheap to a decent price for an all-you-can-eat place, if you ask me.

I took photos of the food bars, at least what I can, considering I was already famished and ready to fall in line because I purposely did not eat breakfast for this. Haha!

Salad Bar
Here are the sets of ohmygosh-can-I-just-go-straight-to-the-last-course desserts! I apologize if anybody's mouth waters for sweets after scrolling down this part.

That chocolate cake, lychee cocktails and panna cottas though

Egg-looking thing which I did not try, mango pudding on the right, creme caramel and cheesecakes on the left, aaaah!

You know what those are! ♥

Mini ice creams!
Rum balls, tarts and mini cupcakes!
These desserts not only looked delish but tasted like it! My personal favorites were the lychee cocktails and the mini ice creams! They're even better than they look!

WHAT'S ON MY PLATE/S:

I do not know why I showed the desserts first but here's what was on my main plate... Cod with lemon and basil was not my fave. The cream of mushroom soup was okay. Fries tasted good as well as the pizza-tasting wraps they had! I also wasn't a fan of their dimsum. What satisfied my palate were the veggie spring roll with the sweet sauce, the shrimp noodles and the beef meatloaf with mushroom! The beef one was, no doubt, the bomb out of all! I'd say I have had better buffet food selection before; hence, I give The Buffet 3 out of 5 stars! Pretty good but not amazing ♥

Obviously enjoying their picks and the view, of course!
Gotta #groupie after eating
We were so full, we had to walk around the terrace after devouring our respective plates. Mom was, indeed, blessed with a lovely weather. Way to celebrate a well-deserved birthday weekend!

Now that what I ate is done and over, here's what I wore:
I was clearly on an all-white ensemble mood. I love how my deep red nails and lips contrasted the whites.

How adorable is this hair tie?

I personally cannot wait for autumn-colored leaves and the need for layering clothes! Maybe not so much on the latter because that would mean chillier weather but hey, got to embrace four seasons! Not everybody's lucky to have it.
I hope you have kickstarted fall time with a bang! I also hope I am not writing phrases that are already too old for blog usage! Hahaha!

'Til the next,
Macy
